Luke tells us...
This week we have been learning about how to write an explanation, also how to draw Tudor portraits. We looked at some other Tudor portraits before we sketched ours.
Kayleigh tells us...
This week we have been learning about a shirt machine. It makes any shirt you want it to, all you have to do is type your idea into the computer and press the go button on the floor by your foot.

First at Selly Manor we went into the Tudor House and we put our bags in red boxes. Then we went into the first room which was the living room and we learnt a few things there. After we went into the dining room where the Tudors used to eat, did you know that a spit boy used to turn the spit and if you didn't have a spit boy you would use a weight?
Next we went into the bed room, in Tudor times, did you know that they meant night night sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite because littel bugs and other things used to crawl into the beds of the Tudors! We liked how the bed looked and how it was set out. There was also a kind of Tudor air freshner by the bed to make it smell nice!
We also went to into the attic, and we tried on some Tudor armour and helmets and let me tell you the armour was very heavy, you wouldn't want to be in war with this kind of heavy armour. But when we tried the helmets it wasn't that bad.

Year 4 are doing fantastic bookmarks for Enterprise Week. We wrote a blurb and drew pictures on the back. Year 4 are trying to make a good profit for a good cause. As well as other year groups we are selling them today the 17.10.12 and we are so excited!
Week Beginning 8th October 2012
At school we have been doing play scripts for fairy tales. We have also written a letter to the owner of Selly Manor to find out about our trip. In maths we have been learning how to solve very difficult word problems and practicing our times tables. In history we looked at rich Tudor food and made our own menu for a feast. In PE, with Mrs Martin, we have been doing gymnastics and using the climbing frame. We had to hold on tight and not go too high to use the apparatus safely. There were also mats underneath the equipment. We are all looking forward to Enterprise week next week.
