General Assistant
Contract: 10 Hours per week

Grade: 1

Start Date: September 2024

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic General Assistant to work in the kitchen. Working under the direction of the Catering Manager and Catering Supervisor you will assist in the day to day running of the in-house catering for 450 pupils.

You will:-

  • Assist in the serving and clearing down of all food, beverages and associated utensils as required;
  • To be customer focused and provide an excellent standard of customer service at all times be able to organise work effectively;
  • Have strong verbal skills in order to communicate effectively face to face with pupils, staff and guests;
  • Participate effectively as part of a team;
  • Previous experience in a catering post is desirable but not essential;
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment;
  • Focus on cleanliness and safety at all times
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate would be an advantage, however not essential
  • Full training to be provided

Lunchtime Supervisor
Contract: 6.15hrs per week – 1.15 per day Term Time only

Grade: 2

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor who will assist and support the children and work as part of a team. We are looking for someone with high expectations of pupil behaviour, who has a positive approach, is caring and friendly with good interpersonal skills and can act as a good role model for children.

You will:-

  • The supervision of washing children’s hands, escorting children to and from the dining room, supervision in the Dining Room and supervision in the School or Playground, and assisting in socialisation through play
  • Controlling behaviour, promoting good table manners and assisting in whatever practical way that may help the progress of the Lunch Service
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Management Team
  • Support the school’s policies and procedures
  • Controlling behaviour of pupils in the playground or indoors as directed by the Lunchtime Superintendent.
  • Co-operating with staff working with pupils participating in lunchtime activities
  • Undertaking first aid duties
  • Undertaking any appropriate supervisory assistant training
